Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe comes from a multicultural family. Born within South London. Her mother and father were both English. She was born on a South London council estate and at the age of 14she enrolled in The Brit School. She attended an academy called the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London which she graduated with a BA in acting. While at school she appeared in several stage productions, such as the King Henry V's Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe started her acting career with a film titled Storm Damage. She has since made appearances in Teachers, Doctors Casualty and Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's film debut was in Woody Allen's Cassandra's Dream (2007), alongside Colin Farrell. The following year, she played Elisha (a BBC Three drama-pilot) in West 10 LDN. Additionally, she starred in Trexx as Ollie and in six episodes of Flipside. In 2008 she landed Bambi's role on ITV2 Drama Series Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe was in the series 2 and 3. Madekwe starred as the lead character on How to Lose Friends And Alienate Others, a comedic comedy made in 2008. Her theatre credits are Little Sweet Thing by Roy Williams as well as Flight Path by David Watson.
Madekwe was officially introduced to her US debut with The Beautiful Life in 2009. The show aired just two episodes at The CW, and was eventually removed from the air. In February, she was cast 2011 in the role of Ashley Davenport on the ABC drama Revenge. In May of 2013, it was revealed that Madekwe, who been a series regular in the two previous seasons, was to leave the series after a guest-appearance in the first episode of the new season. In 2014 and 2016, she starred in the role of Tituba in the TV series Salem. Madekwe, her longtime partner, Iddo, married Madekwe in June 2012. They collaborated on Secret Diary of a Call Girl. He also played with her on Salem.
Ashley Leggat grew up in Hamilton Ontario with a huge family. She was raised by her parents Roy and Patty along with her older brothers: Rob, Brett, and twins Todd and Bram. Ashley lived in stadiums or baseball parks because her brothers, who were all athletic, were hockey players, baseball players, as well as both during spring and summer. Ashley didn't walk, instead she was a dancer. When she was two and half she discovered Baby Ballet. Ashley was captivated by dance at this age. Ashley was a top competitor in divisions of tap, jazz ballet, hip hop, Acrobatics, Lyrical Musical Theatre as well as pointe until the time she completed in high school. Ashley won the best soloist award at every major dance contest, which included International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance and many more, just to mention some.
