Cynthia began her career by modeling in New York. A five-year contract was signed with Wihelmina Models. She then became the face of Essence Magazine. Cynthia's second cover was booked shortly after, setting the foundation for a long-lasting career. Then, she went into Paris and Milan. There, she made an appearance on runways during Paris Fashion Week as well as Milan Fashion Week. Cynthia spent almost a whole year living abroad.
